The Natural Craze

Ok everyone is going natural but why? When I say natural let me clarify, by natural I mean no straightening and little or no heat. So whats up with the sudden natual hair trend? Now its the norm to see curly or kinky haired people everywhere!! Yet, just 4 years ago that wasn't the case! So whats happened from then to now?
Now you see natural haired models,actors, singers, politicans even just people on the street! It seems as though its finally become accepted! Accepted by not just one community but by all! While this a super exciting time for me included why the big push for natural hair now?

Is it the sense of freedom that comes with being natural! The freedom to allow yourself to be completely natural without feeling like you have to change a part of yourself to be accepted! To know and own the fact that your hair in it natural state is beautiful! So what do you think? Why is the whole natural hair movement such a trend right now? Or do you consider it more a lifestyle instead of  a trend?

Mini twist and the many styles

 

     

These are just a few pictures of the various styles that I have had since my hair as been in many twists. These twists are about a month old I know time for them to come down lol. I just use olive oil and shea butter to maintain them. I hope you like the pics!!!

She was one of  the first gurus I subscribed to on youtube and in my opinion still one of the best!!! She has loads of awesome style tips and advice for happy healthy hair!!

My first blog

Hey everyone this is Kristen here and I'm super excited to becoming at you from my new blog! Yea!
As the title states this is my first blog post!! So I just really wanted to let everyone know exactly what I'm about and what I want this blog to be about!!! As I said in my profile I have been natural for 3 years now and in that time I feel like I have learned a lot about natural hair care! And I would just like to share the knowledge I've gained with everyone! I want to share new hair styles, tips, product reviews, homemade natural hair receipes and treatments. Most of all I just want lend support and  help for people to make the transition from relaxed to natural as easy as possible! When I first went natural I had no one to go to for help!!
